I think seeing you, confident and in charge like that, is possibly the most comfortable I’ve seen you when we’ve played. At least in that role.

[ He pushes himself up into a sitting position, leaning his weight on his hands as he grins down at his lover. ]

And it was ridiculously attractive. I figured it would be, just from the scenario we chose, but seeing it firsthand… Damn, Basch. Clearly I need to let you be in charge more often, if that’s what we get to do.

[bardische]

[ Well, he's flushing deeply, eyes drifting to the ground and fully biting his lip. He shakes his head, trying to clear the embarrassment, but it prickles on his skin. ]

I -- didn't realize you liked me being in charge that much.

[ Except he already knew, didn't he? Every time they'd played that way, Sylvain had enjoyed it and relaxed. ]

If you like it, then we should do it more, I just --

[ He can't quite get the sentence out, his cheeks still burning. ]

[ Next time. That had been a thing he'd only considered with dread, but now it feels...nice. Exciting. ]

I think he deserves that. But...I wouldn't mind learning to trust you both want to focus on me sometimes.

[ Which feels selfish and dangerous, but also important. He understands what it is to have affection rejected, and he trusts these two men more than anyone else. ]

[ That has Sylvain's smile softening again, bumping their foreheads lightly together. ]

Good. Because in case you missed it, I very much enjoy focusing on you. And I think I can safely say Olivine probably feels the same. Although feel free to ask him, if you like. I can't imagine him making you blush nearly as much as I do, though.

[philancer]

[ He can practically feel the embarrassment simmering in the other man and he could tease him for that, but he wants Basch to be more comfortable with this. So he temporarily diverts that intention instead. ]

Didn't you like it, when you wore my collar and I led you out for the night?

[ he knows the answer to that, but he wants to put this into perspective for Basch and hopes this might help it make more sense. ]

[bardische]

[ It's important for him to keep hearing that. It's one thing to believe it when he hears it, and another to remember in the moment.

But he does laugh, bumping Sylvain back. ]

No one makes me blush nearly as much as you do, love.

[ He grins at that, looking a little smug over that fact, in fact. ]

Well, good. I'm keeping that accomplishment. I do so love making you turn all those pretty shades of red, after all.

[ But since Basch seems far more comfortable now with this resolved, he brushes his fingers over the man's jaw with an affectionate smile. ]

Feel up to getting some breakfast with me?

[bardische]

[ And that, as always, is why Basch feels so safe with Sylvain. The other knows when to push and when to reassure.

And he sees Sylvain's point. ]

Very much. I wasn't sure how it would feel, since that beginning of that scenario you were so against it.

[ He brushes Sylvain's hair back absently. ]

That first night I was with you, I was frightened that you'd go to far, but it was such a relief to let you take charge once I realized you weren't going to.

[bardische]

[ He doesn't miss that smugness, and it makes his heart swell. He's never been possessed by someone who was so affectionate about it, but he thinks he understands. ]

I think that would be a wonderful way to take advantage of you being awake so early.

[ It's a found tease, but truth is he has no desire to part with Sylvain just yet, and he's glad the other feels the same. ]

[ He cups his hand over Basch's, his smile gentle and wry. ]

I want you to think about how you felt for both of those nights. What you got out of it. What you were afraid of and what you trusted. So let me assure you, I got the same out of it, I'm pretty sure. You're right, there is a sense of relief in it, in surrendering. And I know you will never go too far. Trust like that doesn't come easily - for either of us, I think.

[philancer]

[ Sylvain just groans, as if this were some great hardship. ]

Don't remind me. Although staying in bed for several more hours also has its appeal, now that I think about it...

[ Of course, that's when his stomach gives a protesting growl to contradict him. ]

[bardische]

I'm sore and could use the meal.

[ There's a laugh to his voice though as he squeezes the other's middle. ]

I think you could too. And then we can stay in bed all day, or maybe the bath. I suspect I'm going to be feeling this for a few days.

[bardische]

I know. I think that's why I have such a hard time understanding why you give it to me. Not now, like this, but in a situation like that where you don't know who I am and I haven't earned it.

[ He gives a wry smile of his own. ]

Maybe I'm too protective of you.

[philancer]

[ he can't quite hide that he's a little delighted by that. Although he still searches Basch's expression all the same. ]

Still no regrets?

[philancer]

Maybe I didn't have as many issues there, either. [ He spreads his hands in a shrug before snickering. ] No, who am I kidding? I always have issues. I'm also immensely stubborn.

We knew the first time trying this wasn't going to be easy. That's why we added some enhancement. Even if I didn't remember agreeing to it, it doesn't change that I chose this. I knew you'd convince me one way or another.

[bardische]

Absolutely none, little fox.

[ His answer is quick and easy, his smile warm at Sylvain's smugness. ]

All of this was better than I possibly could have imagined. Thank you.

[bardische]

Stubborn, but always making exceptions for me.

I suppose this wasn't so different from the professor play. There's some part of you that likes being desired and overpowered by authority, isn't there? One who turns out to be safe, at least.

[philancer]

[ At that stated so plainly, he feels a flush of heat creep up the back of his neck as he makes a sound that's not quite a protest, but not exactly an agreement, either. ]

I think it's the 'safe' part that makes the difference.

[philancer]

[ He leans in to kiss him again, brushing his hair back away from his face. ]

Why don't you stay here where its comfy, then, and I'll go fetch us some breakfast instead?

[bardische]

Oh, sweet, did I make you blush this time?

[ It's a low, gentle laugh as he slides his hand through Sylvain's hair. He understands a little better why Sylvain always enjoys making him flush. ]

I'm glad I'm so safe for you, even when we aren't ourselves.

[bardische]

What if I don't want to let you go?

[ He kisses the other again, but does not hold him there. The reality is, he is sore, and he's been asked to let the other take care of him. ]

But it also sounds like the best compromise.

[philancer]

I admit to nothing.

[ Which is basically an admission in itself.

But he chuckles as he kisses Basch again. ]

You were definitely still yourself in all the ways that counted.

[philancer]

Then I’d have to say I’ve been a really bad influence on you, if you’re stealing my moves.

[ he’s grinning as he says it, knowing he’s pulled that excuse a dozen times, at the very least. ]

I promise I won’t be long and then we can be lazy as much as you like. Alright?

[bardische]

[ He won’t push, but he likes that Sylvain is exploring something vulnerable and new with him too. Even if that’s what makes him nervous.

Still, Sylvain is right. This place’s influence or not, both of them have enjoyed everything together. That feels important. ]

I suppose that is a valid assessment. And that you were as well. Stubborn. Beautiful. Hungry. Sweet.

[ he spares a moment on mock insult at that scandalous compliment. But it’s obvious the reaction is completely feigned. ]. I’ll take the rest of them, but sweet?! Really?
