[ It doesn’t occur to Basch that Sylvain would have a hard time finding people to listen, because in his mind Sylvain is interesting and important. But, his mistake pointed out, he’d undoubtedly understand.

But he does feel that fondness and enthusiasm, and it puts a blissful grin onto his face. ]

I like that. I like that we don’t need all the answers now, and that we help each other.

[ Which makes him bashful again, but their lips are so close that it’s easy to bury it in yet another kiss. ]

I'm pretty sure anyone that tells you they have all the answers is blatantly lying through their teeth.

[ His tone is wry at that, but he more than happily indulges Basch in that kiss. ]

Besides. I like figuring it out with you. Our answers wouldn't be the same for anyone else anyway. They're ours.

You might bruise my younger self's confidence if you keep that up.

[ But he's smiling. He doesn't mind that he was gullible or lonely or confused or any of it. It's led him here, and suddenly that feels worth however it came about.

And his heart lifts again, hearing Sylvain embrace the idea of an us, an ours. It's something the other wants to celebrate, not hide. Basch hasn't let himself hope for that in so long. ]

You're right. I want to keep learning all the things that are ours.

[ He bites his lip for a moment, still feeling foolish and vulnerable, but it's just for a moment before he chuckles at himself, pressing his face to Sylvain's again. ]

[ He just holds him close, carding fingers through his hair as he rests his cheek against the other man’s. ]

Was that all that was bothering you yesterday? Or was there something else in what we did that had you concerned?

[bardische]

[ Basch really...has never been doted on this much. Or been so directly checked on. It's all he can do, really, to hold the other back and try to just absorb it. ]

No, that was what it was. I...enjoyed the restraint and the public nature of it, and Olivine joining us. More than I expected.

If anything, I had a hard time with you both giving me attention and being unable to do much back.

[ That just has Sylvain chuckling softly. ]

That doesn’t surprise me at all. If you enjoyed it, maybe next time we can gang up on Olivine together. And then you can do as much as you like.

[ Next time. That had been a thing he'd only considered with dread, but now it feels...nice. Exciting. ]

I think he deserves that. But...I wouldn't mind learning to trust you both want to focus on me sometimes.

[ Which feels selfish and dangerous, but also important. He understands what it is to have affection rejected, and he trusts these two men more than anyone else. ]

[ That has Sylvain's smile softening again, bumping their foreheads lightly together. ]

Good. Because in case you missed it, I very much enjoy focusing on you. And I think I can safely say Olivine probably feels the same. Although feel free to ask him, if you like. I can't imagine him making you blush nearly as much as I do, though.

[ It's important for him to keep hearing that. It's one thing to believe it when he hears it, and another to remember in the moment.

But he does laugh, bumping Sylvain back. ]

No one makes me blush nearly as much as you do, love.

[ He grins at that, looking a little smug over that fact, in fact. ]

Well, good. I'm keeping that accomplishment. I do so love making you turn all those pretty shades of red, after all.

[ But since Basch seems far more comfortable now with this resolved, he brushes his fingers over the man's jaw with an affectionate smile. ]

Feel up to getting some breakfast with me?

[bardische]

[ He doesn't miss that smugness, and it makes his heart swell. He's never been possessed by someone who was so affectionate about it, but he thinks he understands. ]

I think that would be a wonderful way to take advantage of you being awake so early.

[ It's a found tease, but truth is he has no desire to part with Sylvain just yet, and he's glad the other feels the same. ]

[philancer]

[ Sylvain just groans, as if this were some great hardship. ]

Don't remind me. Although staying in bed for several more hours also has its appeal, now that I think about it...

[ Of course, that's when his stomach gives a protesting growl to contradict him. ]

I'm sore and could use the meal.

[ There's a laugh to his voice though as he squeezes the other's middle. ]

I think you could too. And then we can stay in bed all day, or maybe the bath. I suspect I'm going to be feeling this for a few days.

[philancer]

[ he can't quite hide that he's a little delighted by that. Although he still searches Basch's expression all the same. ]

Still no regrets?

[bardische]

Absolutely none, little fox.

[ His answer is quick and easy, his smile warm at Sylvain's smugness. ]

All of this was better than I possibly could have imagined. Thank you.

[philancer]

[ He leans in to kiss him again, brushing his hair back away from his face. ]

Why don't you stay here where its comfy, then, and I'll go fetch us some breakfast instead?

[bardische]

What if I don't want to let you go?

[ He kisses the other again, but does not hold him there. The reality is, he is sore, and he's been asked to let the other take care of him. ]

But it also sounds like the best compromise.

[philancer]

Then I’d have to say I’ve been a really bad influence on you, if you’re stealing my moves.

[ he’s grinning as he says it, knowing he’s pulled that excuse a dozen times, at the very least. ]

I promise I won’t be long and then we can be lazy as much as you like. Alright?

[bardische]

[ He raises a brow back. ]

If I were stealing your strategies, then I’d be sprawled across you and possibly scratching your hair to distract you.

[ and having a moment to himself is not unwelcome, just to give his mind a chance to catch up. ]

Go. I trust you. But I do intend to keep you the rest of the day.

[ It’s not lost on him that it’s a claim he woke up fearing he was shortly going to be unable to make. Instead, it’s the most confident he’s ever expressed it. ]

[philancer]

[ He hears that renews confidence and it just has his smile growing wider in obvious pleasure. ]

Trust me, I have absolutely no problems with that plan. I’ll be quick. [ He leans in to steal one more kiss before crawling out of bed, casting a wink over his shoulder as he goes. ]

Try not to miss me too much.

[bardische]

No [ Basch smiles into that kiss. ]

I like getting to miss you and knowing it will be relieved. And I like knowing you're eager to get back.

Stop trying to distract me, otherwise I’ll never leave and then we’ll both starve to death here.

[ Drama queen, him? Never! But he’s chuckling as he throws on a shirt and heads for the door. ]

You'd never let that happen to me. Even if you'd do it yourself.

[ He's still grinning, but there's a softness to it, watching Sylvain dress with the same loving warmth he had the day Sylvain showed him his new space. And then he waves his hand. ]
